We play in the rain! Just at a different location…
Armstrong classes are moved to Delphi Academy.
As we enter the rainy season, we want to share our updated rain protocol for families attending classes at Louis Armstrong Middle School only. St. Francis classes are not affected. LAUSD reserves the right to close its fields due to weather conditions. While a location change may not be necessary, we likely won’t receive confirmation of field access until approximately 8:00 AM that morning. These decisions are outside our control but Soccer Routes remains committed to providing a safe, high-quality program, rain or shine.
Our Backup Location:
If Louis Armstrong's field is closed, all Louis Armstrong classes will relocate to our Burbank Foothills location:
11341 Brainard Ave.
Lake View Terrace, CA 91342
This location offers a beautiful grass field, private parking, on-site restrooms, and a secure, gated environment. We have chosen this facility over our previous backup location at NoHo Park to better meet our standards for safety and quality.
What to Expect on Rain Days:
Notification: Field closures are typically confirmed around 8:00 AM. We will email families immediately and post updates to our Instagram Story.
Schedule: All classes will begin 30 minutes later than their regularly scheduled time to allow our staff and players time to relocate and set up.
Coaches: Your regular coaching team will remain the same.
We understand that a location change may require additional travel and adjustments to your schedule. Fortunately, these closures are rare. We have not experienced one in 2026 and had only two in 2025.
Our priority is to keep classes running safely and consistently while maintaining the standards you expect from Soccer Routes.
Thank you for your understanding and cooperation in advance when we implement this plan to ensure the safety and consistency of our program. Education, safety, and fun always come first.

Soccer Routes
Rain or shine- we build resilient athletes
Playing soccer in the rain offers valuable developmental benefits beyond the game itself. Adapting to different weather and field conditions helps children build resilience, confidence, problem-solving skills, and mental toughness. It also challenges players to improve their balance, coordination, and ball control in a changing environment. At Soccer Routes, we believe that learning to embrace challenges rather than avoid them is an essential part of developing strong athletes and confident individuals. With safety always our first priority, a little rain can create some of the most memorable and rewarding learning experiences.
There are no credits or makeups offered due to weather. We appreciate your understanding.
